About Alexus
My name is Alexus Marx and I'm a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate (LMHCA) in Washington State providing individual counseling to teens and adults.
I received my training from The Seattle School of Theology and Psychology - where I completed a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology. During my time as a student, I worked in various acute, hospital settings supporting children and adults recovering from eating disorders and, often, co-occuring trauma. Part of my graduate training included completing a clinical internship - where I spent a year supporting adolescents facing the challenges of various mood disorders, addiction, self-harm, teen pregnancy, trauma, and relationship concerns.
As a therapist now, I specialize in perinatal mental health - but enjoy supporting parents all along the spectrum of growing their families. I have completed many of Postpartum Support International's trainings around treating people during the pregnancy/postpartum period and I'm committed to ongoing learning to support the needs of my clients.
Bottom line - I love what I do. I am passionate about creating a safe space for you to share the stories that have made you, you. I believe that we experience deep, life changing healing when we allow ourselves to be authentically seen in our stories - even in the painful, confusing, messy parts. I view myself as a companion and guide with you on that journey toward authenticity and healing - together, we will voyage with kindness and curiosity. I want you to know that I deeply believe in the process of therapy - I, too, have done my own inner work and experienced the relational repair that can come through connection with a therapist. I know how scary this can feel at times, and still, how brave you are to face it. Our time together will be full of space to be authentic and vulnerable, space for observation and curiosity, and space to laugh together.
So, who am I? I'm a lot of things. I'm a therapist, a wife, a mama. My ideal day is spent jumping in puddles with my kids and going home to snuggle up on the couch with popcorn and a good movie. I carry a lot of titles and roles. Most importantly though, I think it's important that you know I'm human - just like you. I am a real, human person who is in a constant state of growing, learning, and transformation.
I'm looking forward to meeting you and helping you find the change you're searching for.
